With core values of informed consent as well as good communication, Laura strives to work with every individual patient to specifically address their unique needs.
The key to having the best outcome from each session is communication. Laura is passionate about helping people so to start each treatment she reviews her patients chart, she asks them how they are doing on the day of treatment and together she sets goals for the treatment with her patients.
The goal of every treatment is to assist each patient feel better as soon as possible. Laura incorporates a variety of manual techniques and modalities and applies them within a paitents comfort level. She recognizes that many factors impact ones health like stress, illness, chronic pain conditions, over use injuries, athletic injuries, anxiety or depression. Massage Therapy is an evidence based, patient centered therapy that positively impacts a wide variety of health conditions.
Deep Tissue Massage reaches deeper layers of muscles. It is used to break down knots and relieve pressure points throughout the body. This massage is beneficial for athletes and those who sit for long periods of time.
The goal of Swedish Massage is to melt away muscle tension and increase the blood flow to your heart. Swedish Massage is extremely therapeutic as it decreases muscle toxins, increases oxygen levels in the blood, and improves flexibility in the body.
STR is a highly effective technique that has an immediate and powerful effect on muscle and connective tissue. It involves a combination of Myofascial Release, Therapeutic Massage and Active Assisted Stretching.
MET is an active technique that involves gentle isometric contractions of the muscle using reciprocal inhibition to lengthen the muscle.
Myofascial Release is a hands on technique that works to lengthen and realign fascia with the goal to bring pain relief and bring back full range of motion.
This technique is designed to relieve pain and muscle spasms, release tension and improve flexibility in a joint.
